“The believers are but brothers.” (Al-Hujurat, 49:10) This verse does more than describe a feeling; it declares a responsibility. Brotherhood requires remembering one another, caring for one another and helping one another.

Brotherhood does not require everyone to think alike. Communities that can respect differing views, and criticise without wounding, are the ones that build real unity.

Stroking the head of an orphan, buying a student a book, knocking on the door of an elderly neighbour who lives alone… Brotherhood shows itself most in these small but genuine moments.
