Chapter VII / VII

Principles

The core principles that light our way, guide our decisions and hold us together.

1 min read

Principles are our compass that stays steady amid changing circumstances. We measure every effort by them and hold ourselves to account by these standards.

Tawhid

The belief that there is no god but God is the centre of our lives, thought and action. Tawhid is the source of the freedom that releases a person from every false master.

Knowledge

A movement without knowledge walks blindly. We pursue reading, research and learning as acts of worship.

Justice

Justice means upholding what is right, even against ourselves. No anger we feel toward anyone can drive us to injustice.

Shura

We run our affairs through consultation and place collective wisdom above individual decisions.

Integrity and ethics

Honesty, trustworthiness and reliability are the foundation of our words and deeds. Not every road to the goal is lawful; the means must be as clean as the end.

Brotherhood and mercy

The believers are brothers and sisters. We make our differences an occasion to know and help one another, never for hostility.

Peace and responsibility

We carry our call with wisdom, kind words and good example, conscious of our responsibility toward the peace of society and the common good.

Heed the call.

Write to us with your questions, thoughts and contributions. We would be glad to hear from you.
